On July 22, 2006, the Humane Society organized a Pet Contest fundraiser at the Anderson County Fair. There were a variety of contests: Best Fetcher, Best Kisser, Look-a-Like, and Most Dog Bones Consumed. Contestants paid a five dollar entry fee and competed for prizes such as an iPod and a 19" television. All proceeds benefitted the Humane Society's spay and neuter program.
